Using a remover tile scraper effectively requires a systematic approach. First, gather all necessary safety gear, including safety goggles, work gloves, and knee pads if you'll be kneeling for an extended time. Ensure the work area is well - ventilated, especially if you're dealing with old adhesive that may release fumes.

Begin by assessing the tile area. Look for any loose tiles as they are the easiest to start with. Insert the edge of the tile remover scraper's blade between the loose tile and the substrate. Apply gentle pressure to pry the tile up. If the tile is firmly adhered, you may need to score the grout lines around it first. A utility knife or a grout saw can be used for this purpose. Score the grout as deeply as possible without damaging the underlying surface.

Once the grout is scored, position the tile remover scraper at a low angle, around 15 - 30 degrees, against the side of the tile closest to you. Use a firm, steady pushing motion to slide the scraper along the tile - substrate interface. This action helps to break the bond between the tile and the adhesive. Apply more force as needed, but be careful not to overdo it and damage the subfloor.

For stubborn tiles, you can use a hammer to gently tap the back of the tile remover scraper. This added impact can help dislodge tiles that are strongly adhered. After removing the tiles, use the scraper to clean off any remaining adhesive on the substrate. Scrape in a single direction, applying firm pressure to ensure a clean surface.

Finally, clean up the debris. Use a broom and dustpan to sweep up the broken tiles and adhesive pieces. Vacuum the area thoroughly to remove any fine dust. This ensures the surface is ready for the next step in your tiling project, whether it's installing new tiles or applying a different finish.
