How to Use Painters Taping Knife?

When dealing with the joints of gypsum boards on the ceiling, first fill the joints with an adequate amount of prepared joint compound. Then pick up the taping knife and hold it at a 45-degree angle to the joint. Start from one end and slowly scrape along the joint.
Each scraping should compact the gypsum to make it fully fill the inside of the joint. Repeat the operation until the surface of the joint is smooth and integrated with the surrounding gypsum boards. After the gypsum has dried a little, use the taping knife to gently trim the surface to remove slight protrusions or flaws, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent painting of latex paint.
