How To Organize Trowels?

Organizing trowels is like organizing a kitchen-do it right, and you'll save time and frustration every time you work.

Start by sorting them by type: keep edgers with edgers, trowels with trowels, and specialty tools (like bullnose or Venetian) in their own group. This way, you're not digging through a pile to find the right one for the job.

A wall-mounted rack is a game-changer. Hang them by their handles using hooks or a pegboard-this keeps blades off the ground (preventing dents or rust) and lets you see each tool at a glance.

For smaller trowels or those used frequently, a portable caddy with dividers works great, especially if you move between job sites. Clean them before storing! Cement or plaster left on blades can harden, scratching the metal or making them sticky for next use.

Wipe them down with a damp cloth, dry thoroughly, and consider a light coat of oil on metal parts to prevent rust.

Finally, label if needed-especially if you have similar-looking trowels with subtle differences (like blade size). A little organization turns a jumbled toolbox into a streamlined workspace, so you spend less time hunting and more time building.
